The 2026 Florence K. Norman Scholarship Application Season is Here!

Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., is proud to offer the Florence K. Norman Scholarship to support young women in high school and college in pursuit of higher education. Each year, the Fund awards $1,000 scholarship stipends to help offset the costs of college attendance for deserving young women. We are currently accepting applications through May 15, 2026. This scholarship reflects our unwavering commitment to the ideals of Sisterhood, Achievement, Service, and Scholarship, demonstrating our dedication to uplifting communities and fostering future leaders. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, community service, and demonstrated financial need. Recipients are selected based on academic excellence, leadership, service, and personal character.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a graduating high school senior, or current college student.
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited degree or certificate program.
  • Must demonstrate strong academic achievement and leadership.
  • Must submit a completed application with all required materials by the deadline.
  • Relatives of board or committee members are NOT eligible to apply. 

Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on the following areas:

  • Academic Achievement – strength of academic record (GPA).
  • Leadership & Extracurricular Involvement – participation and leadership roles.
  • Community Service – meaningful volunteer work and contributions.
  • Personal Essay – quality, originality, and alignment with stated goals and values.
  • Letters of Recommendation – strength of endorsements from teachers, mentors, or community organizers.
  • Youth Group Participation- (bonus consideration) may be given to applicants who are active participants in the Kopelle Youth Group and meet all other eligibility requirements.

Applicants must complete the official application form and submit the following materials:

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcript or proof of enrollment
  • Personal essay
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Any additional materials requested in the application

* Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
